At Pharmacia & Upjohn, as senior consultant he continued advising the development of, among others, cabergoline and reboxetine that he initiated in Farmitalia-Carlo Erba. During his career he has also held prestigious academic positions at Jefferson University in Philadelphia and at Rush University in Chicago. He brings over 30 years of pharmaceutical and clinical competence to the company, as well as a worldwide reputation as a CNS clinician and drug developer. Previously he was the Chief Scientific Officer of Newron Pharmaceuticals and Member of its Board of Directors, and before that the Head of CNS R&D for Farmitalia Carlo Erba. He obtained his Doctorate in Medicine from the University of Turin in 1965, and is a qualified neurologist (American Boards of Neurology & Psychiatry, 1982) and clinical electro physiologist (American Board of Qualification of EEG & Clinical Neurophysiology, 1980).
