16. December 2010. Neurotune wins the third place in the 2010 Eurecan European Venture Contest (EEVC) finals in the category healthcare companies. The finalists were selected by an international jury out of 987 applications from 24 countries.
The Eurecan European Venture Contest finds, evaluates and awards world-class innovative companies with the potential to dramatically impact their industry and contribute to increasing European competitiveness and growth. 449 out of the nearly thousand applicants from Healthcare, ICT and Cleantech industry were selected to present at one of the 15 qualifying events across Europe. From this number the Top 150 were selected. These companies were reviewed online and face-to-face at the European Venture Summit by over 120 European experts representing funds such as Earlybird Venture Capital, Philips Healthcare Incubator and Veraventure Oy. 25 companies were selected for the finals of the contest that were sponsored by Corporacción Can and Microsoft and supported by Barcelona Activa.
The 2010 edition involved 15 locations across Europe in Austria, Belgium, Denmark, France, Germany, Italy, Luxembourg, Poland, Hungary, Spain and the UK. William Stevens, CEO of Europe Unlimited commented “The number of applications and active presenters across all 15 qualifier events of the 2010 Eurecan European Venture Contest and the quality, demonstrate the importance of innovative entrepreneurship in Europe.”
The international jury based their evaluation on criteria such as the business potential, team experience, product and technology merit, competitive position, investment or partnering interest, company profile quality and company presentation quality.
